environment, to be successful citizens in our ever-changing society. We envision our graduates to be versatile,
collaborative, and innovative learners with resources to determine their futures.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an increasingly powerful tool which shows great promise to assist teachers in
implementing the Art and Science of teaching. After discussion with staff and stakeholders, we recognize that
to honor the profession and ensure positive outcomes, a human professional must work alongside AI whenever
it is used.
To prevent data mining and release of personally identifiable information, we will only use Department of
Education AI systems. They will only be used to assist teachers with Curriculum, Instruction, or Assessment,
in accordance with the Code of Conduct.
Children need to work towards a sense of efficacy and achievement in their elementary years. We strive to
promote the development of the whole child; including literacy, numeracy, reasoning, essential knowledge, the
arts, social-emotional proficiency, and more. We agree to provide a safe harbor for our elementary students to
develop these skills intrinsically from theory to application.
In accordance with General Learner Objective #6, Effective and Ethical User of Technology, and Computer
Science standards, we will teach students about AI, and engage them with adaptive tools that use AI. Students
are prohibited from directly using AI themselves for any school-directed activity. We ask that parents
not allow students to use AI to complete homework or any other production for school-related purposes.
